Abstract: The purpose of this FOCUS Session is for the publication team from the forthcoming Human Resource Development: Critical Perspectives and Practices (Bierema et al., 2024) to share an expert dialogue about the publication process and the unique contribution of this HRD textbook. The design of this focus session is in three parts. The first will share an overview of the book. Part two will feature a dialogue among the publishing team on key lessons learned during a long-term scholarly collaboration on a daunting book project. Part three will engage the audience in a dialogue about doing and publishing critically-oriented work.
