Jeremy Coats is a doctoral student in the Human and Organizational Learning Program at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. His research interests are international research collaborations, African higher education, and adult learning. Jeremy also serves as Lead, Foundation Programs at the Institute of International Education (IIE). He leads six programs including the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program, funded by Carnegie Corporation of New York; the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program, sponsored by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation; and the Christenson Fund’s Indigenous Biodiversity Exchange Fund. Jeremy served in the Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa as an instructor of American studies at the University of Mali in Bamako as well as at the Conservatory of Arts and Multimedia Balla Fasseké Kouyate, Bamako. He also lived in South Korea where he was part of a teaching and research team tasked with creating innovative speaking and writing curricula for high school students.
